OPC Expands Energy Transition Offering

Paving the Path to a Sustainable Future

Mark Carney called the transition to net zero “The greatest commercial opportunity of our age”, and whilst the transition does represent an opportunity for long-term growth, it also enables businesses to begin thinking about how to mitigate climate change risks on their business models, avoid stranded assets and reputational harm, and prepare for net zero by 2050. Businesses that want to succeed now need to have detailed plans for net zero by 2050 and will need to demonstrate greater Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) credentials and integrate this thinking into Field Development Plans. With a growing body of evidence linking ESG performance with superior market returns and rewarding a premium to those companies transitioning faster.

The acceleration in creating sustainable energy solutions and a greener future has shaped and transformed the energy industry to shift towards the ‘net-zero’. Geothermal energy is potentially one of the most powerful renewable energy resources today. Our journey to support clients in the energy transition includes working on ‘Carbon Capture and Storage’ and the greenhouse has to inventory.

It is crucial to minimise carbon emissions while providing the world with the ever-increasing energy demand. OPC is a leading Carbon Capture and Storage (CSS) consultancy to the energy sectors. OPC is aware of the changing market and thrives through leading the re-invention path for oil and gas companies. Our expertise has developed its CSS expertise over the last 9 years, with its first CCS project on the Endurance structure, which is now being developed by the Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP) (Equinor and BP).

By leveraging its existing expertise, industry knowledge and technical capabilities, OPC is playing a pivotal role in assisting oil and gas companies in their transition towards a more sustainable energy future.
