Steve Wybar: Senior Geoscientist Driving Excellence in Subsurface Studies
Steve Wybar is a Senior Geoscientist within OPC’s London Technical Team. He plays a pivotal role in leveraging OPC’s extensive capabilities in subsurface geophysical, petrophysical, and geological studies, as well as seismic interpretation projects.

His diverse geological skillset supported by significant hands-on project expertise. He has had worldwide basin exposure from exploration to late life development.
Within OPC, Steve collaborates closely with the rest of the in-house geoscience and engineering team, utilising industry-standard software such as Petrel. This integration allows for the seamless amalgamation of geophysical, geological, petrophysical, and engineering data. The result is the development of a static reservoir model that accurately represents the geological characteristics of a given basin or petroleum province.
Steve’s expertise extends to regional geological and integrated basin studies worldwide, ranging from frontier to mature basins.
Exploration Efforts in Africa’s Hydrocarbon Scene
Recently, Steve has been working on projects in Africa, a renowned region for its rich hydrocarbon potential, with countries like Nigeria, Angola, and Egypt serving as significant contributors to the continent’s oil and gas production. Steve has interpreting horizons, analysing faults, building multiple geological realisations, and developing static models.
