Enhancing Exploration and Appraisal in Guyana & Suriname: OPC’s Bespoke PTA and Well Test Interpretation Training and Workshop Sessions

OPC completed a series of pressure transient analysis (PTA) and well test interpretation training and workshop sessions in Guyana and Suriname.

The bespoke training and workshops included independent analysis of the client’s data from exploration and apprasial datasets within the Guyana-Suriname Basin to derive ‘learning opportunities’ which were integrated into a modified world-class PTA training course.

The clients DST datasets were analysed and commented on during workshop sessions to augment the learning experience. Delegates were given the opportunity to perform their own analysis to apply the theory developed during the training using real case studies they had previously worked on. The expertise developed drives better interpretation and analysis of reservoir models, drastically improving subsurface characterisation during exploration and appraisal.

Feedback:
“The trainer was very knowledgeable and really helped with the learning. We’d gladly have him back for the classless; he made a very position impression on the local staff.”

From learning the basics to advanced classes, OPC can offer training and workshops using world-class PTA techniques developed from 35 years of well testing experience globally. For any enquiry, please contact either max.richards@opc.co.uk or call Piers Johonson on +44 20 7428 1111.
