Well test planning, modelling, monitoring and analysis

OPC recently managed a well test project on an appraisal oil well onshore central Africa.

The project was managed by OPC London based Reservoir Engineer Alex Thatcher and involved Bill Roberts and Piers Johnson as PTA technical experts.

Initially Alex provided expert assistance with the overall pre-test modelling and then supervised the well test in central Africa. He then undertook an initial ‘quiklook’ analysis and then a more detailed post-test analysis utilizing PTA.

OPCs involvement in the project helped the operator minimise cost by acting as Well test supervisor and onsite technical PTA expert.
