Reservoir Engineer with Intersect software experience – 1 year contract in Doha, Qatar

OPC are urgently seeking a Senior Reservoir Engineer for a Contract opportunity in Qatar.

Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 12 months (4 months, initially, but most likely will be extended by a further 8 months in July)
Location: Doha, Qatar

To provide Reservoir Engineering support for ongoing Dynamic Model, Subsurface Studies and Stimulation Activities using Intersect reservoir simulation software.

Required qualifications, experience and expertise (if you do not meet ALL of these criteria, please do not apply)

• You were born after February 1964
• B.Sc. in Petroleum, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum fifteen years’ experience in reservoir engineering activities emphasizing large carbonate reservoirs.
• Significant experience working on mature oil fields under water flood.
• Strong background in reservoir surveillance and optimization.
• Experience in reservoir fluid sampling, fluid property modelling, routine and special core analysis.
• Strong background in well test interpretation, material balance modelling and performance modelling of vertical and horizontal wells.
• Reserves evaluation, classification, and booking.
• Strong teamwork skills, and it would be an advantage to have experience working in a multicultural environment.
• Able to communicate effectively with peers, less experienced staff, field staff, and management.
• Mentoring less experienced engineers.
• Current computer software for reservoir engineering applications.

Desirable experience and Expertise:

• Numerical reservoir simulation in using of Eclipse100 and 300 in particular, history matching and field development.
• EOR techniques such as miscible / immiscible and CO2 injection.
• Applying reservoir knowledge and skills to assess field compartmentalization issues and problems.
• Working knowledge of gas condensate reservoir as well as gas field development experience.
• Geo-statistics, integrated reservoir characterization, fault and fracture studies as well as risk assessment / management.
• Static reservoir modelling and description.
• Working with standard reservoir engineering software:

o Eclipse 100 and 300, in particular and other software related to the Eclipse suite of programs
o PVTi – Fluid property modelling
o MBAL – Material balance
o SAPHIR – Well Test Interpretation
o OFM – Reservoir surveillance
o Prosper – Well performance modelling
