OPC are always interested in hearing from Geologists, Geophysicists, Geoscientists and Technical Assistants.
The following skills are desirable;
- Competent evaluator of geological and geophysical data.
- Experience as a geoscientist with an E&P company.
- High level knowledge of structural geology, salt tectonics, sequence stratigraphy and sedimentology, with expertise or specialist status in some area (e.g. regional geology of passive margins).
- Evaluation of previous geological and geophysical interpretations, reports and literature
- The ability to identify and define play concepts, geological models and facies distribution as well as define and evaluate prospects and leads.
- Experience of prospect evaluations liasing with Reservoir Geologists/Engineers and Drilling/Development Engineers to work out production/cost profiles for economic evaluations.
- Design and planning of geological and geophysical work programmes within budget constraints for companys operated areas, ensuring the final product matches the original specification.
- To prepare reports and data packages for partners, authorities and government agencies.
- To evaluate and advise management on new opportunities via farm-ins/outs and cross assignments.
- To keep abreast of developments in geological & geophysical acquisition, processing and interpretation techniques, in geoscience and regional geological knowledge, monitoring technical literature and participating in seminars.
- To ensure adherence to the cient's Health, Safety and Environment policies, procedures and standards.
Qualifications Required:
Degree in Geophysics or Geology
Proficient/highly skilled ability to use workstation PC applications
